Sinopsis
Yani is a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. She smokes so much that her apartment smells like ash and is littered with cigarette butts—and plenty of other trash! Every time she tries to quit, she becomes weak to the cravings and gives in almost instantly. Will she ever get her life together, or is she doomed to live as a chainsmoking slob forever? Reading through the negative reviews, their problem is obvious. This is a Japanese anime with full of Japanese humour, which is childish and cringy (the most common example is the panty thieves). So for your Western scale, it will most probably be too much (or not enough). In every country, it is different what is funny and what is not, so if you're not familiar or comfortable with Japanese TV...
Silly, horny and adult. I feel it is also tackling some real issues and has purpose beneath all the gross out humor. (as of episode 4) Chainsmoker Cat I love a Slice of Life with an all girl cast. Nice to see my BPD girlies represented in anime. This shit reminds me of when I was doing 30 shots a week in Prague, half homeless and smoking weed with evil puppy girls. What a time of my life. Surpr...
if you're prepared to see total crap and don't mind jokes being made about taboo topics then you will find this enjoyable so far there have been better and worse episodes but overall as a concept the show works very well the sketch comedy format for storytelling suits it, the scenes are nicely connected plotwise, there are no big logical fallacies in the plot, the characters are vivid as well and...
It's clear to me that this show isn't targeting the average viewer, though it does invite them to read and listen. The jokes don't land some say, and it's incredibly odd to read/hear that this anime doesn't treat the subject matter seriously enough. As someone who's moved in and out of addiciton, this is the *best* depiction of addiction and codependent behavior I have seen in anime. Full stop. T...
I watched three episodes to write this review. But what a terrible anime; I have to admit the character design and animation are excellent, but that is completely undermined by a wretched script. You don't connect with anything—the jokes fall flat, and it relies on constant toilet humor. I enjoy anime with absurd premises—like *Aho Girl*, *Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou*, and *Pop Team Epic*—that m...
Yani Neko is one of those anime where the packaging actively works against it. catgirl aesthetics draped over what is genuinely a document of addiction, social displacement, and the specific exhaustion of existing in a society that refuses to take those things seriously. There's a pattern with anime like this as Interspecies Reviewer had the same problem, and before that plenty of others did to...
show is so repetitive and also a bit nasty. the jokes don't land most of the time. all characters are super static and stereotypical. After an episode or two, you get tired of seeing the characters because they don't do anything different. It's like seeing a comedian repeat the same joke everytime you see their face - you might smile the first time but it just gets boring after the 10th time in a...
This is one of the funniest shows i've watched recently. Also, I honestly don't want to smoke in order to not end up as MC. The intro is full of references to real life movie production scenes and I'm really keen on that, it feels nice to see so many scenes from movies. Most importantly, there is nothing bad in this title. It's hilarious and shows how can you end up by abusing some substances. E...
Heard a lot about this series and how people were dropping it because it's so disgusting so I decided to check it out since I don't really get grossed out from most animated things. Ended up dropping it not because it's gross but because it's degenerate goon slop. Like the kinda thing older people imagine when someone describes themselves as an otaku or a weeb. There is SOMETHING to the universe...

Just like Marriage Toxin from last season, Yani Neko really throws it out there in the first episode the tone of the story, with literal toilet humor and drug and alcohol addiction. I wanted to watch this show because it seemed to be a critique on Japanese addictions through catgirls. During my time in Japan, although smoking is less than what it was historically, you can still see salesmen smokin...
